12.7.66 House


Bank building. 1838-40. E. Corbett for North and South
Wales Bank. Facade later brought forward between pilasters.
Stone, 3 storeys, 3 bays to Derby Square and 5 Bays to
Fenwick Street. Corinthian pilasters, plain frieze,
pediment with dentilled cornice. Doorway to right and 2
round-arched windows on ground floor; 1st floor has 3 sashes
in moulded architraves with aprons, keystones and cornices
(central window with segmental pediment). Top floor has 3
smaller windows. Fenwick Street front has Corinthian
pilasters and end doorways with pulvinated frieze and
pediment (that to right now blocked). Battered architraves
to 1st floor windows. Entablature carries round.
