Pair of cottages. Probably late C18. The lowest 7 courses of
red sandstone, the upper parts of hand-made brick, slate
roofs, tall centre chimney. 2 storeys., one bay to each
house and later lean-to extensions, 3-light casement windows
on each floor with segmental brick arches, and 2 segmental
arched doorways, that to No. 285 replaced by window,
entrance in extension. Each has a lean-to kitchen addition.
