41/494 Unitarian Chapel



Chapel. 1700, enlarged 1719. Stone with slate roof. 2
bays. Cornice; flush quoins. Segmental-headed windows with
keys. Right return has Venetian window and original doors;
left return has vestry of 1875 and round-headed window.
West end has octagonal ogee-handed cupola with round-headed
openings with keys. Coped gables have ball finials.
Interior has C18 west gallery and timber pulpit. C19
panelled pews. Wainscoting. Roof replaced in 1950's,
ceiling of tiles. Wall memorials to J. Whittle (died 1702),
W, Shepherd (Died 1847), T. Rodick (died 1855). Chest dated
