Bank. 1898. James Rhind. Red brick and stone, 2 storeys
with attic, 2 bays to Kensington, recessed corner bay and
one bay to Deane Road with attached, projecting part of 2
storeys and 2 bays. Rusticated ground floor with cornice
over, top frieze and cornice. Corner bay and flanking bays
form symetrical composition. Ground floor windows are
tripartite with Ionic colonnettes. Entrance on right return
of corner bay has bowed hood with C.20 sign over. 1st floor
windows have aprons, rusticated pilasters , entablatures and
keystones; central window is bowed with flanking low columns
on corbelled plinths; cornice. Top broken pediments have
cornices interrupted by round-headed windows with Gibbs
surrounds; niches with coats of arms over, in aedicules with
open pediments. Central bay is concave above 1st floor
window with stone panel and stack, flanked by Ionic columns.
2nd bay to Kensington possibly later, lower with tripartite
ground floor window, two 1st floor architraved windows and
parapet with pedimented dormers. Adjoining part to Deane St
on domestic scale, has octagonal turret with ogival cupola.
