House. Datestone, 1889. By William Owen. Brick with stone
dressings, tile roof. 2 storeys, 3-bay facade to corner of
street, the central bay projecting under Dutch gable; 2 bays
to street. Stone-coped gable. Windows have single-
chamfered mullions and small-paned glazing. Ground floor
has 3-light canted bay window with hipped roof to 1st bay
and 4-light window to 2nd bay. 1st floor has 3-light window
to 1st bay and one of 2 lights to 2nd bay with datestone
above. Entrance, 4-panel door and leaded flanking light.
Return has projecting 1st bay with asymmetrically placed
gable. Ground floor has 3-light canted bay window with
light to left return, cornice and parapet, and sashes with
upper glazing bars. Stone coped gable. 2 stacks. Rear
similar, with projecting one-storey hipped wing. One of the
earliest houses to be built in Port Sunlight.
