Terrace of 11 houses. 1895-6. By William Owen. Brick with
stone dressings, plaster 1st floor with timber-framing, some
shingles and tile-hanging, tile roofs. 2 storeys, 11 bays,
3 bays at each end project by one bay. Timber framing to
3rd, 4th and 8th bays of 1st floor. 2nd and 10th bays have
jettied gabled 1st floor. 1st, 6th, 7th and 8th bays are
gabled, 6th and 7th bays with shingles. Decorative barge
boards to 1st and 2nd bays. Inner returns have tile-hanging
with fishscale bands. Oval plaques to 2nd and 10th bays
inscribed "L Bros. Ltd." and "A.D. 1895" - respectively.
Most windows have small-paned casements, 5-light bow windows
to 6th and 7th bays, 2nd and 10th bays have 4-light canted
bays, other bays have windows with gauged-brick flat arches
and paired sashes with glazing bars. 1st floor windows
mostly of 3 lights, 4-light windows to 4th and 5th bays,
2-light flat-topped half-dormers to 3rd, 8th and 9th bays.
Entrances have stone lintels, 3-panel doors with small-paned
lights. Re-entrant porches with squat timber Tuscan columns
and flat roofs, now blocked. 9 cross-axial stacks,
inner returns have stacks with diagonal shafts next to 2-
storey canted bay windows.
