Pair of houses. 1850 s. Brick with stucco dressings,
hipped slate roof. 2 storeys, 4 bays, end bays break
forward. 1st floor sill band and top altered parapet. Tall
narrow round-headed recess between central bays. Windows
have architraves and are sashed with glazing bars; end bays
have canted bay windows with angle pilasters, frieze and
cornice. 2 round-headed dormer windows with casements.
Stacks to front and rear of ridge have round-headed recesses
and caps. Returns have porches with C20 1st floors, flat
pilasters, entablatures, round-headed entrance with 4-panel
doors and round-headed windows to returns. 4 lateral stacks.
Part of a planned village for Price's Patent Candle Company,
one of the earliest examples of a model industrial village.
