Drinking fountain. 1899. Pink granite. Central fountain
with swept segmental hood and flanking seats swept forward
at ends. Fountain has quoins and string course, semi-
circular bowl on squat Ionic columns and brackets. Recess
above has bronze lion mask and plaque commemorating
erection. Elliptical-headed recess below bowl has small dog
bowl. Flanking seats have rusticated end piers and top
entablature; seats with panelled backs and ends with
acanthus to knees and paw feet. Commemorates the Silver
Wedding anniversary of Lord Leverhulme and his wife, and the
life and influence of his parents, James and Eliza Lever.
