Includes Nos. 1 to 5 Knox Close. Terrace of 10 flats.
1898. By Grayson and Ould. Brick with hipped slate roof
and tile ridge. 2 storeys, 8 bays, the 1st 2 recessed, the
others form symmetrical composition under hipped roof, the
end bays breaking forward under pedimented gables. Sill
course and stone cornice to ground floor, top modillioned
cornice with central round pediment with dated shield.
Windows have gauged-brick flat arches and leaded casements.
4th and 5th bays have 3-light windows with transoms and
central arch in glazing. 3rd and 6th bays have cross
casements with small light to side, 1st bay has single
light; 2nd bay has later window of 3 lights. 1st floor has
2:3:4:4:1:1:4:4-light leaded casements. Pediments have
keyed round windows. Entrances have 4-panel doors and
overlight. 2 cross-axial stacks and one to rear. Rear
facade has entrances to Knox Close, ground floor has C20
alterations.
