G.V. II

Fire Station, 1902. By William and Segar Owen. Brick with
stone dressings, tile roofs. 4 bays with later small
extensions to each end and to rear, 2 bays to right canted
forward, with loft. Left 2 bays have flat-topped projection
with cornice and triple doors with small-paned glazing to each
bay; top panel inscribed "FIRE ENGINE STATION". Right 2 bays
have elliptical-headed windows with 3-light transomed leaded
casements. Elliptical-headed entrances, that to left with
plank door, the other C20. Loft is diapered, to left end a
loading door with jettied shingled gable, plank door with
small-paned glazing. 2 triangular louvres to roofs. Right
return has loading door with cat head.
