5/22 The Grange

- II

Farmhouse. Early C19, rear wing said to be C17 but
fragmentary and partially rebuilt. Brick, part of rear wing
of stone, slate roof. 2 storeys, 5 bays. Windows have
gauged brick flat arches and are sashed, no glazing bars.
Central elliptical-headed entrance has half-glazed doorcase,
complete fanlight and 8-panel door. 4 stacks; 2 cross-axial
and 2 end stacks. Interior has mid C19 fireplace and grate
in entrance hall. Rear wing, though older, retains none of
its original features.
