School, now house. Dated 1677, with C20 extension to rear.
Stone with stone slate roof. Weathering over ground floor
and C20 boxed eaves and barge boards. One storey and attic,
2 bays. Windows have chamfered mullions and are of 3-
lights, those to attic in dormers. Entrance has lintel
inscribed: JOHN STIRRUP BUILT THIS SCHOOL HOUSE ..... 1677".
Door is original, with decorative hinges. Left return has
5-light window with inscribed plaque above. Rear wing of
similar design. One stone end stack. The house has
recently been restored and much stonework was renewed.
