7/89 Seddon's Cottage
(Formerly listed as Seddon's
9.6.53 Cottage (formerly the School
- House ))

House. Early C19. Stone with concrete-tiled roof and brick
central stack. 2 storeys, 2 bays. Windows have chamfered
reveals and label moulds; C20 small-paned casements. Central
entrance with 3-centred head has label mould and C20 door;
plaque with griffin's head crest above. Right return has
small extension under lean-to roof. The birthplace of R. J.
Seddon, 1845-1906, prime minister of New Zealand 1893-1906.
