House. Possibly early C18 (marked on estate map of 1769).
Brick with stone, corrugated iron roof probably replacing
thatch. 2 storeys, 3 bays, the 1st bay an addition. Stone
base to 1st bay, ground floor stone quoins to rest. Brick
band over ground floor. Segmental-headed-windows with
casements and blocked fire window to end bay. Segmental-
headed entrance between 2nd and 3rd bays. Gable-end stacks,
that to left is to former gable end. Right return and rear
wing have lower part of stone. Interior has chamfered
beams. Inglenook fireplace has bressumer beam and smoke
hood; 1st floor has fireplace and breast in front of hood.
One wide-boarded door. Front wall has stone coping with
roll moulding and 3 stone blocks forming mounting block. A
rare example of a cottage retaining its smoke hood.
