6/137 The Chestnuts
II
House. Late C18, has extension with datestone inscribed
"TWT/1853". Brick with stone dressings, slate roof. 2
storeys with 3 bays, and C19 extension of 2 bays to right.
Top cornice. Windows have wedge lintels and are sashed with
glazing bars. Round-headed entrance has Tuscan columns,
fluted frieze and open pediment; complete fanlight and 6-
panel door. Extension has stone coping. Windows have wedge
lintels and casements. Segmental-headed entrance to left.
Gable end stacks. Left return has round-headed attic
window.
