Circa 1830 row of unaltered fourth rate common passage artisans dwellings.
No 165 has a single bay elevation the rest have 3 bay elevations. Two storeys
red brick. Low pitched hipped slate roofs with flat eaves on bed mould.
Painted stone plinth. The entrance bays of Nos 165 to 173 are blind on first
floor and break forward by one brick with similar breaks in line with chimney
stacks. The alternative window bays contain one glazing bar sash window
to each floor, with painted stone sills and thin moulded stone lintels with
small keystones, properly cambered to Nos 171 and 173. Six panel doors in
panelled reveals. The doorways of Nos 167 and 169 have reeded panel architraves
with corner blocks. Nos 169 and 165 have addition of later gabled bracketed
hoods. Nos 171 and 173 have architrave doorways with blind radial glazed
fanlights. Nos 175 and 177 presents a flat 3 bay front, same window type
without glazing bars. Six panel door in panelled reveals, blocked fanlight,
delicate geometric trellis porch.
