Includes No 1 Piers Road. C1840. Stucco; slate roof. Two storeys; 9 bays with
vermiculated quoins left and right; each house 2 bays. Ground floor with banded
rustication and windows and doors alternating plus an extra window on the right. The
doors up steps and with rectangular fanlights and pilasters to an entablature
with scroll work in the frieze and bracketted cornice. The windows tripartite and within
surrounds with foliage in the friezes of the bracketted cornices. First floor
windows, tripartite over those on the ground floor and narrow and with marginal
glazing bars over the doors, stand on an elaborate sill band and within moulded surrounds
of unusual type with decorative aprons reaching down to the cornices of the
windows below. Dentilled and bracketted eaves cornice. No 15 with ground floor
window converted onto a bay window in matching style. On the right hand return,
the entrance to No 1 Piers Road.
