Original building circa 1830 in Tudor style. South-eastern extension in 1899.
Later alterations and additions. Original building formerly of 2 storeys but
floor has been removed. Red brick with stone dressings; tiled roof with 2 short
hexagonal brick stacks; crow-stepped gabled ends with 2 two-light mullioned windows
in stone architraves with hood moulds; school bell mechanism in south-east gable.
Main elevation in 3 sections: middle section breaks forward slightly with crow-stepped
gable; one 4-light mullioned window in gabled end, stone architrave, centre 2
lights are taller, square label above now has modern ventilator; 2 windows on
ground storey under continuous hood mould, 2-light with stone mullion. The 2
flanking sections, one gabled semi-dormer each, carved barge-board to gable;
3-light casement, centre light taller, in stone architrave with mullions. On
ground storey 2 windows each under continuous hood mould, with modern ventilators
as in centre section. Later additions to south-east.
