Early C18 house in grounds, now much enlarged in facsimile. Used early C19 as well-known
private school, Meriden Academy. Symmetrical design in red brick, Welsh slated
hipped roof with plaster cornice. 2 storeys, plinth, rusticated stone quoins.
7 flush sash windows with glazing bars under flat arches and keystones. 5 stone
steps up to central 8 fielded panelled door in eared architrave surround under frieze
and segmental pediment. VCH, IV, p 148. +
