II Berry Hall Lodge

Lodge.1884. Designed by J.A. Chatwin for Joseph Gillot of Berry Hall, in a
Neo-Elizabethan style. Red brick and timber framed with ashlar dressings
and plain tile roofs. A single ridge and a single lateral stacks, both ornamented with cut brickwork. Double chamfered plinth, and deeply coved wood and plaster eaves. Single storey plus attics. Rectangular plan with corner porch in antis, supported on bulbous turned wooden posts on ashlar bases. Shallow pointed arched doorway, with small single light window to right. South side has a single 3 light ashlar cross mullion window, with to left a terracotta
gargoyle. Above a single gabled dormer with a 3 light casement,coved eaves
and an ornately carved gable, also a small flat roofed dormer. West gable
wall has a 3 light ashlar cross mullion window with above an ornately carved
gable containing two 3-light casements. Interior retains staircase and
fireplace.
