Bank and offices. Late C19. Sandstone with slate roof. Three storeys,
seven bays. Ground floor altered mid-C20. The first floor bays are
separated by Corinthian pilasters, the outer ones with granite shafts.
The entablature has a frieze enriched with carved decoration and a modillion
cornice. The windows have round heads and pilaster reveals. In the middle
bay are paired narrow lights. The upper storey has Doric pilasters, an
enriched frieze, and a cornice with egg-and-dart moulding. The windows
have pilaster reveals and flat heads with rounded upper corners. In the
central bay are paired narrow lights. This building forms a close group
adjoining No 29 [Taylor's Music Shop (qv)].
