Shops. Early C19. Brick in Flemish bond with tile roof. Three storeys
west facade, four bays. Ground floor has late C19 shop front extending
from middle of third bay to left of facade. Right-hand bay has C20 window
with painted lintel. To its left is a door with segmental head. First
floor windows sashed with segmental brick heads. Second floor windows sashed
with glazing bars, the second bay having a blind recess. Moulded eaves
cornice. Roof hipped at left. Chimneys at right and between first and
second bays. Shop front continues in first bay of left-hand return wall,
whose first and second floor windows are similar to those of the main
facade. To the left are two further shops (Nos 42 & 43), of two bays and
one bay. Both are rendered and have C20 shop fronts. The left-hand shop
has sashed windows with segmental heads. The right-hand shop has sashed
windows, with glazing bars only in the upper sash on the first floor, which
has a cornice on consoles.
