Parish church. C12-C15. Restored 1856. Flint with ashlar dressings and
brick. Pantiled nave and aisle roof and slate over chancel. C12 round tower
to west. Octagonal belfry stage with 4 2-light windows of c. 1300. C19
broach spire. All exterior detailing except south clerestory and chancel
east window is C19. South porch and aisle. South clerestroy of brick
comprising 2 2-light windows per bay, probably late C15. Chancel east window
3-lights double ogee type of c. 1340. One flushwork panelled corner buttress.
North side has C19 vestry and 3 C19 windows. No clerestory. Nave interior
of 3 bays. Octagonal piers with double chamfered arches on south. Similar
chancel arch. Very fine late C15 hammerbeam roof with crenellated wall plate
and hammerbeams. Panelled spandrels, arched brace to ridge purlin with
pendants at intersections. Single moulded butt purlins. Early C15 font,
probably of 7 sacraments but with carvings lost.
