6/36 The White House and
Boundary Wall.
GV II
House, early C18 and later, in two builds. Double-pile with 'M' roof. Red brick,
partly colourwashed, pantile roofs. Two and three storeys. South wing late C18/
early C19 of three bays. Sash windows, with margin lights on ground and first floor;
rubbed arches over openings, cambered on ground floor. Wooden modillion eaves
cornice, parapetted gables with tumbling. Internal gable chimneys. Central door-
way with two-leaf door and panelled reveal. North wing early C18. Two storeys.
Sashes with glazing bars. Rubbed arches over ground openings. Five bays, central
two-leaf door with moulded surround and canopy on console brackets. Modern canted
bay, left-hand side. Rusticated quoins, brick dentil eaves course. Internal gable
chimney stacks. Coped brick boundary wall, curved on west side terminating in
piers with stone ball finials.
