TG 02 SE REEPHAM DEREHAM ROAD

3/72 Vale House.

II

House, late C17, red brick, colourwashed and rendered with black and red
pantiled roof. 2 storeys with attics, and lower 2 storey extension to the
west. Double fronted with central 6 panel door, with shouldered architrave,
pulvinated frieze and pedimented porch. Canted bays,sash windows with glazing
bars and hipped roofs. Eastern parapet gable with brick kneelers, external
stack and C18 wrought iron window with glass quarrys. Western gable with
bargeboard and axial stack adjoining C19 range to the west. This wing of
3 windows, C19 casements with wrought iron lights. Western parapet gable
with end stack. Later lean-to addition to the north not of special interest.
Winding stair to first floor and attic. Staggered butt purlin roof.
