The Old Bakery.

GV II

House, divided into two. C17, greatly altered in the early C19. Built of
red brick with slate and pantiled roof. 'T'-shaped plan of 2 storeys and
attics. South facade of 4 bays. Doorcase to west with fluted pilasters and
projecting cornice. Sash windows with glazing bars and segmental gauged brick
arches. Paired shaped timber brackets to eaves, hipped roof with central
axial stack. North wing with scattered C20 fenestration and modern porch
to east with inside, a 6 panel door with flat gauged brick arch and above
a moulded brick string course of early C18. Modern parapet gable and axial
stack. Traces of C17 fabric in rear range including chamfered beams, attic
timbers and bressumer to large open fire place, bearing the traces of Gothic
script.
