1/2 The Old Rectory
21 .7.51 (Formerly listed as Vicarage)


Vicarage, now private house. Early C19. Gault brick with slate roof. 2
storeys. Facade of 3 bays, central bay projecting slightly containing
pilastered doorcase with flat entablature on moulded consoles. Panelled door
under rectangular light. One sash window left and right and 3 identical sashes
to first floor all with glazing bars and flat finely gauged heads. Projecting
eaves with paired modillions. Hipped roof with central stack. South front
identical to facade but window replaces door. Blind windows on north return
leading to double pile rear range of 2 storeys with casements, also early C19.
Stables, now garages, of red brick form side of rear court closed by single
storey utility rooms under hipped slate roofs.
