4/83 Redbrick Farm Barns.

II

Group of interconnecting barns enclosing cattle yard. Early C19. Brick with
pantiled roofs. North barn with full height double doors of C20 to east.
Slit lights below diamond ventilation panels. Dentiled eaves cornice. Gabled
roof. East gable with tumbling and datestone J.B.T. 1824. Roof of tie beams,
principals, 2 tiers through purlins and scissor braces to every third prin-
cipal. Range returns south forming important wall by road articulated only
by C20 full height double doors and dentiled eaves cornice. Roof changes
from gabled to hipped. Short return to west. Cart shed with timber posts
and roof hipped to south closes cattle yard and is linked to north barn by
brick wall.
