TM 08 NE BANHAM WASH LANE

8/45 Wash Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Early C17 timber framed but completely refaced in brick mid C19.
Corrugated tiles to roof. 2 storeys. 2 mid C20 French windows flank gabled
bay window. South end square with steeply pitched gabled roof. Large ridge
stack with 4 octagonal shafts on bill moulded plinth. Cross wing to north-
east c.1900. All exterior details C20. Interior Lounge has spine beam with
roll and tongue stops. Various cockshead hinges to internal doors. Roof
formed of simple upper crucks to collars of which only one pair survive.
Staggered butt purlins. Much altered.
