Farmhouse formerly of Holkham Estate. Dated 1793 on keystone with initials T.W.C. - Thomas Coke.
Brick with black pantiles. 2 storeys and 7 bays of 2- and 3-light alternating mullion and transom windows beneath skewback arches. Wide partly glazed front door with raised and fielded lower panels. Window above with keystone and shaped soffit to skewback arch. Gault brick dentil cornices and window sills. Pedimented gable-ends. Original straight stair with square sectioned balusters and shaped tread-ends. Moated site which probably formed outer bailey of Mileham castle.
Site of Burghwood Manor - birthplace of Sir Edward Coke.
