14/14 Breckland House

- II

One house, originally 2. Late C15 and later. Timber framed with rendered
and colourwashed wattle and daub infill. Plain tiled roofs. 2 storeys and
attic on brick plinth. L plan. North wing has central fielded, and panelled
door in fluted case under flat hood. One late C20 casement each floor left
and right. Gabled roof. Internal quadruple stacks on square plinth at west
gable with spiral and diaper cut brick decoration. Secondary central ridge
stack. Gabled cross wing projects to left with 3 late C20 casements. East
wall of cross wing with various late C20 casements and fielded plaster panels
to north. To rear is 2 storey gabled stair turret now with 2 late C20
casements. Single storey late C20 conservatory obscures elevation of main
range. Black glazed pantiled outshut to east range. Dining room with
cruciform bridging beams multiply roll moulded. Rod chamfered joists. Close
studded timber frame complete.
