Gateway and walls. 1869-73. G.G. Scott (Junior). Red and gault brick. Square section gate piers with central pilasters and stone rustication rising to double cornice of moulded brick. Surmounted by stone obelisk on cruciform base with supporting scrolls. Piers flanked by round arched pedestrian gateway within square surround. Double gates of timber with fielded panels below middle rails and egg and dart moulding. Shutting stiles with ball and steeple finials. Top rails curved and ramped to hanging stile. Wrought iron railings above middle rail. Pedestrian gates similar. Walls are swept to right and left : brick piers, raised gault brick panels, saw-toothed eaves cornice and coping tiles.
