TM 08 SW SOUTH LOPHAM

6/98 Walnut Tree Farmhouse

House. Late C16, altered c.1700 and mid C19. Timber framed interior, brick
facade with gault brick dressings and slate roof. 2 storeys and dormer attic.
2 doors and 3 ground floor windows under segmental arches. 5 first floor
casements of alternating dimensions similar, all windows are C20 casements.
3 flat topped C20 dormers in hipped roof. Ridge stack right of centre. Rear
has full height gabled stair turret of c,1700 with one C20 casement. Pantiled
outshuts to right. Interior timber framing unremarkable. South ground floor
room with filleted bridging beam with sunk quadrant mouldings interrupted
by raised convex studs. Joists are roll moulded with tongue stops.
