Boat house. Circa 1910 by G.J. Skipper. Timberframe part rendered and part
apparent on brick base and timber piles. Pantile roof. Half of structure
is over the lake. Central hall surrounded on 3 sides by galleries and a
balcony with boat moorings underneath. Distinctively rustic in style. Access
by an external wooden stair. Wooden railings to galleries and balcony with
wavy braces to main supports. Hall with 2 pairs of French windows to balcony
side and 3-light casements flanking single pairs of French windows to gallery
sides. Formerly with leaded glazing. Roof half-hipped to one end and a half
gable at balcony end. 4 sloping dormers with lunette windows and one lunette
in half gable. Stack to land side end on western pitch. Weather vane finial
on gable. Hall of 4 bays - the 4th bay consisting of an upper gallery over
the balcony. Crown post roof trusses with arched struts from tie beams to
principals.
