6/25 Over gate House

Former farmhouse. Early C18 and later. Chequer patterned brick with plaintile
roof. 2 storeys with attic. 4 bays of C19 or C20 3-light ovolo-moulded
mullion and transom windows. 3 original skewback arches at first floor.
Ground floor windows beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits. Off-
centre modern raised and fielded panelled front door with flat hood. Pro-
jecting eaves. 3 dormers with hipped roofs, modillion cornices and 2-light
casement windows. One off-centre axial stack and one gable-end stack.
Heightened gables with tumbling-in. Later additions to side and rear. One
fireplace with bolection moulded surround. Plain chamfered bridging joists
with stepped stops. C19 roof with wedge tenoned butt purlins.
