School and School House. Central inscription: "Erected by John David Hay
Hill Esq. of Gressenhall Hall A.D. 1842". Brick with painted stone dressings.
Slate roofs. Irregular plan with adjoining School House to north. 2 -storey
and 3-bay house with slightly advanced gabled centre bay with a 3-light mullion
and transom first floor Gothic window beneath a 4-centred arch. Blank shield
in gable. 5 3-light flat-headed windows with arched lights beneath rectangular
hood moulds. Pair of identical doorways at junction with school with 4-centred
arches and boarded doors with ornate hinges. Axial stack with sawtooth cornice
and narrow pilaster strips. Single storeyed school. Slightly advanced gabled
centre bay with a Gothic window similar to central window of house. Flanked
by one 2-light and one 3-light flat-headed windows with arched lights beneath
rectangular hood moulds. Pair of octagonal chimney shafts. Various extensions
to rear.
