House. C17 rear block with main block of 1845 according to graffito on north
east corner. Early C19 modifications to rear block. Main block of gault
brick with slate roof. Rear block of brick and flint with pantile roof.
2 storeys. Main block with symmetrical facade flanked by giant angle
pilasters with moulded stone impost blocks and bases. 5 bays of sash windows
with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. Taller ground floor windows rise
from ground level. Slightly advanced centre bay with porch on columns with
channelled capitals. Simple entablature with guttae -and projecting cornice.
2-leaf part-glazed front door. Wide eaves and hipped roof. Rear block with
C17 flint and brick gable-ends. Heightened and re-faced in early C19.
Symmetrical main section between plain giant pilasters and of 3 bays of sash
windows with glazing bars beneath skewback arches. One window replaced by
modern canted bay. Central panelled door with modern pedimented doorcase.
North gable-end with 3 C17 octagonal chimney shafts. Interior. Main block
with dog-leg stair in an early C18 style with shaped tread-ends and turned
balusters with square knops. Good plaster work. Group value with parish
church and Hoe Hall Barn.
