10/47A The School House
II
School house, c1770, built for Lord Montrath of Weeting Hall. White gault brick
in English bond, with coped and tumbled gables and 2 gable stacks. Thatched roof,
with C20 concrete tile roofs. 1 1/2 storey. Double fronted. 3 bay with central
doorway with panel door and fanlight within wooden round headed door surround,
under a C20 hood. Eitherside are single glazing bar sashes with segmental brick
heads, beyond to the left a C20 plank door in a small lean-to addition. To the
rear two gabled school rooms, now altered and enlarged. Interior contains
chamfered spine beams and pandled doors.
