7/69 Gate Piers and wall at
Hunstanton Hall.

Gate pier and wall. Late C17. Remains of formal garden laid out after the
marriage in 1686 of Sir Nicholas Le Strange, 4th Bt. Gate pier red brick
with stone dressings. Classical style, rectangular on plan gate pier. North
rebate stone console bracket. Stone moulded plinth above, supporting bracket for
stone roundel formerly placed above now collapsed and lying at base. Garden
wall to south faced on east towards Hunstanton Hall with brick, on west with
squared coursed carstone, triangular coping. See Christopher Hussey"Hunstanton
