TF 60 SW CRIMPLESHAM DOWNHAM ROAD

3/4 Crimplesham Hall

G.V. II

House. 1881. Gault brick with slate roofs. 2-3 storeys. Composition of
gable ends contrived to leave no symmetrical aspect. All fenestration of
sashes (single, paired or tripartite) in no predictable pattern. On south
front east gable of 3 storeys and flat, west gable of 2 storeys with full
height canted bay with elaborate splayed corbelling. Gable heads with stepped
internal machicolations. Skyline punctuated by rectangular stacks at right
angles to each other. Interior. All original fittings survive. Tiled
entrance hall leads to top lit stair well with arched gallery approached by
dog-leg staircase : turned balusters and handrail.
