16/26 The Manor House

House. Early C18 with additions of late C18. Brick with plain tiled roof.
North front in 3 parts. Original house of 2 storeys with dormer attic in 5
bays. Central panelled door with 6-vaned fanlight and semi-circular hood.
Sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. Flat brick string
course between storeys. Moulded brick eaves cornice. Gabled roof with 2 flat
dormers and sashes. Internal gable end stacks, that to west incorporated into
gable wall of full height late C18 entrance tower. Shaped east gable. Central
entrance tower of 1 bay. Panelled door beneath 6-vaned fanlight. Panelled
reveals with engaged reeded timber columns supporting moulded segmental hood.
Blocked first floor window. Gabled roof. To west a late C18 addition of 2
storeys in 4 bays. Ground floor windows blind. 2 C19 sashes to first floor
with wrought iron balconies and 2 further blind windows. Gabled roof with
internal west gable stack. Rear cross wing of early C18 range with shaped
south gable. Returns with early C18 sashes with glazing bars.
