Farmhouse. Early C17 and early C19. Colourwashed brick with roof of black
glazed pantiles or plain tiles. Original house of L plan to which is a
further L plan addition to form facade. 2 storey west front with gabled cross
wing to right in which is doorway under gabled hood supported on engaged
fluted Ionic columns. Above door is sash window, to left is 2 storey canted
bay. All fenestration renewed. To left of cross wing is 2 storey, 2 bay
front with renewed sashes. Gabled roofs with gault brick ridge stacks. South
front of C17 house refaced to match extension : 4 French doors behind ironwork
trellis. 4 early C19 sash windows to first floor with glazing bars under
segmental arches. Stepped east gable wall with central internal stack. Ground
floor of flint, remainder brick. On north front some wall studs remain.
Interior has stairwell top lit by glazed dome. Roll moulded lower edge.
In scullery in east range transverse bridging beams retain rolls and hollow
chamfer.
