16/28 Village Cross
G.V. II*
Village Cross. Early C14. Ashlar upon octagonal brick pedestal. Pedestal
has ashlar cornice supporting plinth. Square socket stone, chamfered into
octagon, with stop angles at cardinal points. Shaft in form of tapering
column with 4 rounded lobes so arranged as to appear as 4 deep rolls. Crowned
cap, but cross missing.
