Farmhouse, c.1600 with additions. Wing dated 1648, carstone and brick stone
dressings, pantile roof with gable parapets. L shaped. 3 bays 2 storeys.
Principal facade to south: rendered with rendered platband, central classical
doorway having stone pilasters; 2 3-light casements to ground floor, 3 2-light
casements to first floor; end internal stacks, shaft to west rebuilt; brick
lean-to to west with bullseye. Return to east of galletted carstone rubble,
platband with dentil courses above and below. North facade: carstone and
brick colourwashed, platband continued from east return, limestone quoins
to east; chimney bay to east; forward wing of 1½ storeys and 2 bays to third
bay; ground floor with tripartite sash to bay 1, 6 panelled door canopy to
bay 2 with canopy. First floor with inscribed sash to chimney bay, flush
sash with glazing bars to bay 1, flush sash with glazing bars and semi-circular
head to bay 2. Forward wing to bay 3 of carstone with some clunch brick
dressings, east return of varied colourwashed materials, inserted window;
north gable of galletted carstone rubble, inserted attic window, stone dated
1644 at apex; west return with 2-light casement to first floor one leaded,
one with glazing bars. Interior: central cell with stone floor, open string
stair with wreathed hand rail, with ovolo moulded bar-stopped cross beams.
East and central bays with bar-stopped cross beam, those to ground and first
floor of east bay with ovolo mouldings.
