GV II
Piers, gates and railings on opposite side of road from Wolferton Station
c1898. Pair of brick piers 80cm square in English bond, stone cap with egg
and dart cornice, surmounted by large stone ball; large single gate c3.7m
wide in wrought iron with scroll work above top rail and in panels between
bars; attached low brick wall to right in English bond with stone cap,
railings above with scroll work in 10 sections articulated by double twisted
bars; 5 similar panels to right return along former railway line. The Horse
Dock provided separate access to the Railway for transport and collecting
of horses. Included for group value.
