C15 gatehouse at west end of the Priory Church, on High Street frontage. Flint,
rubble, with stone dressings. Large moulded 4-centred archway with 2 tall niches
above with 3 panels between containing shields. Inside arch is another smaller
4-centred arch with large oak doors. Originally vaulted. New concrete floor
with room above containing original fireplace and mullion/transom window with
flanking niches.
High flint wall adjoining south facing High Street: brick and flint at lower
levels. Later C19 battlements with bracketed cornice.
