G.V. II
House. Dated 1687 TSM on gable datestone; remodelled late C18. Gault brick,
flint with brick dressings. Glazed black pantile roof. 4-cell plan with later
additions to rear. 5 bays, 2 storeys and attic. Sash windows with glazing
bars and some with horns under flat rubbed brick arches to ground floor.
Central doorcase with pilasters having fluted necking; fascia with central urn
and swags to goat skulls; plain cornice. Door with 6 fielded panels. Overlight.
Sashes under soldier arches to first floor. Paired timber modillions to eaves
cornice. 3 attic casements with moulded timber pediments. Kneelers to stepped
gables. Gable-end stacks and off-centre axial stack. Left hand gable wall
of flint with moulded red brick platband. Datestone to gable. Below this are
2 blocked brick ovals inset in rendered reveals with diapering between. Also
known as Ingleborough House.
