and Cottages

G.V. II
Farmhouse. C1795 by Samel Wyatt with later alterations and extensions. Gault
brick with hipped slate roofs and lead flat. Originally a two storey and attic,
three bay house with one storey pedimented side wings. Sash windows with glazing
bars: gauged arches over openings. Plain brick band at first floor level. Moulded
brick eaves. Central porch with pedimented doorcase and pierced brick balustrade:
two light side windows with semi-circular fanlights. Lunette attic windows in
E wall. Three large chimney stacks with moulded brick caps. Late cl9, early C20
additions on W side. To the E side, range of early C19 cottages with hipped pmtile
roof. Two storeys, iron casement windows with glazing bars. Lean-to pantile roof
forming loggia with brick porch centrally placed. Projecting one storey hipped
wing on N side.
