G.V. II
Village school, C1890, in ornate picturesque style. Red brick with contrasting
banding. Steeply pitched plain tiled roofs with crested ridges and gable finials.
One and two storeys. Ground floor casements surmounted by moulded brick pediments.
Projecting wing on W side with first floor verandah under hipped roof surmounted by
turret with rough cast panels, steeply pitched roof and weather vane. Half hipped
dormer and gabled dormer on W side. Large double-height 4 light bay window with
two transoms to S: coved soffit to extended gable with rough cast panels and curved
timber braces. Half hipped wing to E. Lantern with bell-cast roof on main ridge
line. Chimney stacks with moulded tern-cotta shafts.
