19/173 Bridge Yard


Cottage. Early C18 and later. Red brick. Roof black pantiles. Two storeys,
4 bays, formerly 2 cottages. Facade. Brick plinth, plat-band string course,
dentil eaves cornice. Ground floor: two 3-light cast iron C19 casement windows,
glazing bars, under segmental rubbed brick arches. First floor: 2 and single light
casements, glazing bars. Two door embrasures under rubbed brick arches, C20 doors.
Brick coped parapets, C2O stack below ridge off-centre. As SW gable, single storey
flint, pantiled lean-to. At NW gable 2 flint, brick dressed, pantiled cottages
C18, altered. Rear (E) facade: 4 bays: first floor windows C2O in original openings.
Formerly a lobby entrance house, later 2 cottages, interior altered. Included for
group mine.
